Eiffage Construction has officially started the construction of Hyperion in Bordeaux, France. Once completed, this tower, which will culminate at 57m, will be the tallest wooden building in France.
With around 1,400m3 of solid wood installed, this tower will be able to store the equivalent of 1,000 tonnes of CO2, a volume comparable to the CO2 emissions from the energy consumption of such a building for more than 9 years. The realization of this tower, made possible in particular by a BIM design, will bring together no less than 1,500 pieces of wood assembled on site within 5 months. Hyperion should be delivered in May 2021.
