The TBM « Mary » transported successfully by Collett & Sons

The heavy transport company Collett & Sons recently forwarded elements of the Tunnel Boring Machine « Mary » from the DFDS Immingham Terminal to Goxhill in North Lincolnshire, England. The four elements of the TBM have been manufactured in the German city Baden-Wurttemberg by Fracht AG, company which awarded a 100 million pound contract to excavate a 5km tunnel under the River Humber. The 30 tonne cutter head, the 70 tonne shield, the 95 tonne Machine Can and the 20 tonne tail shield were transported on a 27 mile journey during three days.
