The part of Cargotec Kalmar lately launched a new range of fully electrical forklifts from 9 to 18 tons. Machines, whose battery capacities with lithium-ion can last until eight hours at full blast, is equipped with all performances of a diesel truck but upgraded. The operating cost of the forklifts is also lower than for traditional diesel machines, which can enable customers to « achieve significant reductions », reports Peter Ivarsson, Director of Forklift Trucks of the company. In order to reduce the environmental impact, Kalmar becomes the first manufacturer to offer electrical forklifts in this capacity range.
